ソニア王妃は87歳。容態は安定しており、悪化は心配されていないようです。

2025年1月10日、ナイジェリア連邦共和国のオヨ州知事セイ・マキンデ閣下（His Excellency Seyi Makinde）は、ナイジェリア伝統的君主の中でも有力な君主の一人オヨ王に、アビンボラ・アキーム・オウォアデ王子（Prince Abimbola Akeem Owoade）を承認したと発表されました。
やや唐突な発表です。
In the statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, the Oyo State government said that after thorough consultations and divinations, Prince Abimbola Akeem Owoade has been recommended by the Oyomesi and approved by the Governor of Oyo State.
連邦情報省の理事ドトゥン・オイェラデ王子（Prince Dotun Oyelade）の署名による、アビンボラ・アキーム・オウォアデ王子がオヨ州知事にオヨ王として承認されたとする声明が出た、ようです（追記：枢密院である Oyomesi によって推薦されたとも書いてありますが、下記のように反対があります）。
2022年4月の前・オヨ王崩御から年月が経過しています。

オヨ王国の枢密院（Oyomesi ： Oyo Mesi）は、候補としてルクマン・アデロドゥン・グバデゲシン王子（Prince Lukman Adelodun Gbadegesin）という人物を選出し、すでにある程度の期間が経過していたようですが、この人物に金銭トラブルや（オヨ王選出を意図して高位首長らへの）贈賄疑惑があり、（それが理由かはわかりませんが）オヨ州知事の承認は得られていませんでした。
枢密院の7人の高位首長のうち、伝統的宰相ユスフ・アキナデ閣下（His Supernal Highness High Chief Yusuf Akinade, Basorun【Bashorun】 of Oyo）ら5人が今回の決定を支持していないようです。

2025年1月6日、サー・トーマス・ダン（Sir Thomas Dunne, KG, KCVO, JP）が卒去したようです。
1933年10月24日生まれの91歳。
ヘレフォード・ウスター統監（1977年～1988年）を経て、ヘレフォードシャー統監（1998年～2008年）とウスターシャー統監（1998年～2001年）を兼任。
1995年に王立ヴィクトリア騎士団ナイトコマンダー、2008年にガーター騎士に叙任（ナンバー1001）。
スチュアート・レンデル男爵（娘しかいなかったため、初代で男爵位消滅）の曾孫になります。
卒去に伴い、ガーター騎士団の空席は四になりました。また、ヘレフォードシャー議会は半旗掲揚をしているようです。
