2025年9月23日、ニュージーランドのマオリの大首長の一人、ンガーティ・トゥーファレトア大首長サー・トゥム・テ・ヒューヒュー・トゥーキノ8世（Sir Tumu te Heuheu Tūkino VIII, Paramount Chief of Ngāti Tūwharetoa）が薨去したようです。
1941年8月22日生まれの84歳。

ここで Sir ではなく、 Mr なのは、ニュージーランド・メリット勲章（New Zealand Order of Merit）は、 2000年 から 2008年 までの間には騎士（ナイト）関連のランクを廃止・転換していたため、 2005年に授与された彼には Sir がないまま 2007年 を迎えていることによると思われます。
