　2025年5月31日、キリスト教／ローマ教皇レオ14世聖下（His Holiness Pope Leo XVI）は、ローマ・カトリック教会のウルヘル司教で個人として大司教に叙されているジュアン＝エンリク・ビベス・イ・シシリア座下（Archbishop Joan-Enric Vives i Sicília, Bishop of Urgell, Episcopal Co-Prince of Andorra）の辞任を許可しました。

　2024年7月12日に、故フランシスコ教皇に、ウルヘル協働司教に叙任されていたジョセップ＝リュイス・セラノ・ペンティナット座下（The Most Reverend Josep-Lluís Serrano Pentinat, Bishop of Urgell, Episcopal Co-Prince of Andorra）が、辞任許可と共にウルヘル司教位を継承し、また自動的にアンドラ共同統治公となりました。

　なお、協働司教の叙任（2024年7月12日）当時、ジュアン＝エンリク・ビベス・イ・シシリア座下が 2024年7月24 日に 75歳 を迎えるため、後任決定に伴い、75歳になった後の速やかな辞任との観測もありましたが、実に 10ヶ月 以上も経過しました（不思議がる声もありました）。

　新たにウルヘル司教となったジョセップ＝リュイス・セラノ・ペンティナット座下は、新たなアンドラ共同統治公として、アンドラ公国を訪問し、憲法に規定されている宣誓などをおこなう予定です。

Resignation and succession of bishop of Urgell, Spain

The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Urgell, Spain, presented by Bishop Joan Enric Vives Sicília.

He is succeeded by Bishop Josep-Lluís Serrano Pentinat, until now coadjutor bishop of the same diocese.
