最初の質問の回答から、パスポートは「Karl Habsburg Lothringen」（※記事中には「Habsburg」と「Lothringen」の間にハイフンがありませんが、本当についてないのかはわかりません）だが、父の故オットー大公殿下が「オットー・フォン・ハプスブルク（Otto von Habsburg）」として知られているので、一般的な名乗りはそれに合わせているというような回答があります。
また、カール大公殿下の公式サイトで、「Karl von Habsburg」と「von」が使われているため、これがオーストリア法（「von」が使えない）違反として訴訟を起こされていますが、これについては、「まだ捕まっていない」と答えているだけです。
