2025年5月20日、スペインの第5代セビリア公爵フランシスコ・デ・ボルボン・イ・エスカサニー閣下（Francisco de Borbón y Escasany, 5th Duke of Seville ： The Most Excellent The Duke of Seville）が薨去したようです。
1943年11月16日生まれの81歳。
10日前の5月10日には弟のアルフォンソ閣下も薨去しています。
セビリア公爵は、スペインのブルボン王朝の貴賤結婚の子孫で、男系の傍系では現スペイン王室に最も近い系統です。
薨去に伴い、公爵号は、（2006年からの法に伴い）第一子・長女のオリビア・デ・ボルボン・イ・ハルデンベルグ閣下（The Most Illustrious Olivia de Borbón y Hardenberg）に継承権がありますが、スペインでは王への申請と許諾が必要となるため、まだ正式ではありません（可能性の話でいえば、近親に譲ることもできます）。
また、正統派フランス王位継承者ルイ20世（Louis XX）ことアンジュー公ルイ・ド・ブルボン殿下（Louis de Bourbon ： Monseigneur The Duke of Anjou）が弔意を表明しています。
正統派では、故・セビリア公爵は、ルイ殿下の三人の息子と、前スペイン王ファン・カルロス1世陛下、現スペイン王フェリペ6世陛下に続く、フランス王位継承順位第6位でした。
正統派のウェブサイトでは、息子（第三子）のフランシスコ閣下（フランソワ公子）が「premier Prince du Sang」の地位を受け継ぎ、娘（第一子）のオリビア閣下（オリヴィア公女）がセビリア女公爵となったと書いています。
Son Excellence était née à Madrid le 16 novembre 1943. De son union (7 juillet 1973) avec Béatrice, comtesse de Hardenberg (1947-2020) sont nés trois enfants dont deux survivants. Son fils, le Prince François, né le 21 janvier 1979, assumera désormais ses droits de premier Prince du Sang de la Maison de Bourbon et sa fille, née le 6 avril 1974, la Princesse Olivia, comme aînée, recueillera, conformément aux lois espagnoles, le titre de Duchesse de Séville.
