2025年2月5日、ラヒム・アーガー・ハーン公子（Prince Rahim Aga Khan）が、新たなイスラム教イスマーイール派（ニザール派）のイマーム、アーガー・ハーン5世（Aga Khan V）となることが発表されました。 2月4日に薨去した、アーガー・ハーン4世殿下（His Highness Aga Khan IVの遺志によります。
Prince Rahim al-Hussaini Aga Khan V is the 50th hereditary Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslims, as designated by Mawlana Shah Karim in accordance with the historical Shia Imami Ismaili Muslim tradition and practice of nass.

アーガー・ハーン4世は、英国の故エリザベス2世より、一代限りで殿下（His Highness）の敬称を受けており、またその先代も殿下の敬称を受けています。
現在の英国王チャールズ3世陛下が後継者に対して殿下の敬称を授けるかどうかはわかりません。

2024年5月23日、ナイジェリア連邦共和国カノ州では、カノ首長アミヌ・アド・バイエロ殿下ら五人が廃位され、2020年にカノ首長を廃位されていた“アルハッジ”・ムハンマドゥ・サヌシ2世殿下（His Royal Highness AlhajiMuhammad Sanusi II, The Emir of Kano ： サヌシ・ラミド・サヌシ ： Sanusi Lamido Sanusi）をあらためてカノ首長とするように結論が出たようです。
追記：
連邦高等裁判所が復位の即位式を差し止める命令を出していた模様。また、司法判断がわかれており、誰が現時点で法的に正当なカノ首長であるかはわかりません。
